Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), owner of the New York Stock Exchange, has partnered with Trade.xyz to develop a US-regulated perpetual futures market built on Hyperliquid infrastructure. ICE is making a strategic equity investment in Trade.xyz, but the size of the investment, ICE’s stake and a launch date were not disclosed. The plan is subject to approval by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
The new venue would have its own clearing, identity checks and anti-money-laundering controls. Planned contracts would cover stocks, equity indexes, commodities, forex and crypto, offered through participating brokers and platforms. Trade.xyz’s existing offshore products are not available to US customers, and the company will keep running its current Hyperliquid HIP-3 markets alongside the new venture.
Trade.xyz says its Hyperliquid markets have passed $650 billion in cumulative volume in just over a year. It recorded $202.36 billion in volume in the second quarter of 2026, of which $58.9 billion came from equity-linked contracts. Its NIFTY 50 perpetual futures launched on October 27 with up to 20x leverage.
HYPE reacted, briefly rising to about $86 and trading roughly 4% to 6% higher over 24 hours depending on the reporting time. The move builds on ICE chief executive Jeffrey Sprecher’s comments in May that the exchange had held multiple talks with Hyperliquid about onchain perpetuals. For traders, the news points to a regulated route for perpetuals in the US, although everything still depends on CFTC approval.
