Ripple CEO XRP payment standard forecast and Chainlink 20 dollar target

Ripple CEO Predicts XRP Becomes an Institutional Payment Standard in Five Years While Van de Poppe Targets $20 for Chainlink

Two altcoin forecasts circulated on Sunday. Both are opinions, not results.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said at Swell 2026 on October 29 that he expects XRP to become a standard for institutional payments within five years. He pointed to annual product revenue rising from about $300 million to about $900 million, which are company figures that have not been independently audited. He also cited roughly $16 trillion of transaction volume, most of it still running on traditional infrastructure, and said his goal for next year is to move 1% to 3% of it onto blockchain networks. Ripple also uses its RLUSD stablecoin and fiat where they fit better, so blockchain growth does not automatically mean more demand for XRP.

On Chainlink, Dutch analyst Michaël van de Poppe expects LINK to rise above $20 in the first quarter of 2027, which would be almost a doubling. LINK has fallen about 35% from its September high and tested $10.60. His confirmation is a weekly close above $10.60. The weekly candle was still open on Sunday and closes Monday at 01:00 Dutch time. The $20 target is his forecast and is not confirmed. On the fundamentals side, Chainlink announced 24/7 market data on October 29, with Aave as the first partner for tokenised assets.

Traders should treat both calls as scenarios. A target without a confirmed weekly close is a hypothesis, and a five-year payment prediction says little about the next price move.
