Charles Schwab plans to add Avalanche (AVAX) to its Schwab Crypto platform, alongside Solana (SOL) and Chainlink (LINK), The Block reported after the firm announced the plan on August 27. The assets will become available “in the coming months,” and no specific launch date has been given. The reports do not say whether trading is already live.

Schwab Crypto began rolling out direct bitcoin and ether trading to clients in May 2026. The platform charges 75 basis points per transaction. Schwab oversees more than $12 trillion in client assets and has 39 million active brokerage accounts, so even a small share of clients buying AVAX could matter for demand.
Schwab said it plans to “thoughtfully expand” its digital asset offering. Joe Vietri, the firm’s Head of Digital Assets, said the additions are “consistent with our approach to provide clients with access to familiar cryptocurrencies.”
For Avalanche, access through a large US brokerage is a distribution win rather than a guaranteed price catalyst. Similar listings have often produced a headline spike that faded without sustained buying. The key signals are the actual launch date, trading volumes on the platform, and whether AVAX holds support as the rollout approaches.
