PUMP, SEI and ARB Token Unlocks Add New Supply in the Week of October 12

Pump.fun, Sei and Arbitrum unlock tokens between October 12 and 15. Amounts, values and what decides the price impact.

Several crypto projects release previously locked tokens this week. Pump.fun (PUMP), Sei (SEI) and Arbitrum (ARB) stand out. An unlock does not mean the tokens are sold right away, but it can shift the balance between supply and demand.

Unlock schedule (DeFiLlama)

DateTokenAmountValue (approx.)
Mon Oct 12PUMP6.875 bn (≈1.48% of circulating supply)$37.4M
Tue Oct 13SEI22.08M (cliff unlock)$1.49M
Thu Oct 15ARB92.65M$18.2M

PUMP: this is the largest release in dollar terms. With high trading volume the market can absorb the supply; if buying demand falls short, selling pressure may follow. PUMP is also sensitive to memecoin sentiment and activity on Solana.

SEI: the cliff unlock is smaller than earlier estimates. Tokens from staking rewards and strategic allocations are released as well. The key question is whether recipients hold their tokens or move them to exchanges.

ARB: the tokens go to the team, employees, advisors and investors. The unlock falls on the same day as the US PPI data, so macro news and extra supply could weigh on the price together, or be absorbed easily in a strong market.

What to watch

Four factors determine the impact: the size of the unlock relative to circulating supply, trading liquidity, the type of recipient and overall market sentiment. An unlock is often already partly priced in.

Later this month, deBridge (DBR, October 17) and LayerZero (ZRO, October 20) follow.
