Cardano Treasury Roundtable Runs September 21-23 as Leios Hard Fork Looms in Q4

Cardano’s community is focused on governance this week. The Cardano Foundation is hosting a Treasury Roundtable from September 21 to 23, with discussions on 2027 treasury fund allocation and the net change limit. The outcome will help determine how ecosystem development is funded next year.

On the technical side, the more significant milestone is further out. The Dijkstra hard fork, Phase 1 of which is Linear Leios, is targeted for deployment by the end of 2026. According to the roadmap, it aims for a 10 to 65 times increase in throughput, moving toward more than 1,000 transactions per second. The Amaru Rust node client is also targeted to reach mainnet block production in November, adding client diversity that supports decentralization.

Cardano also shipped node version 11.1.1 on September 7, a maintenance release that addressed Hydra layer-2 vulnerabilities and removed legacy code.

These dates are estimates. They remain subject to testing and governance approval, and Cardano roadmap timelines have shifted before. Traders should treat Q4 as a target rather than a commitment.

For ADA, the near-term catalyst is limited, since roundtables do not change the protocol. The bigger question is whether Leios and Amaru stay on schedule, because delivery of scaling upgrades is the main test of the network’s roadmap credibility.
