Arbitrum to Release About 139 Million ARB in September 23 Token Unlock

Arbitrum has a token unlock scheduled for September 23, 2026, with roughly 139 million ARB set to be released under the project’s ongoing vesting schedule for early contributors and advisors. The release follows a separate unlock of about 92.63 million ARB on September 16.

Circulating supply currently stands at approximately 6.79 billion ARB, which puts the upcoming release at a little over 2 percent of the circulating total. Two sizable unlocks within a single week add to the supply that can reach the market in a short time, and recipients may choose to sell some of their holdings.

Vesting-driven unlocks are among the most predictable events in crypto, and the market has historically priced them in ahead of time. That does not remove the possibility of short-term pressure, particularly if broader market conditions are fragile or demand for Layer 2 tokens is weak.

The key data points to watch are exchange inflows from known vesting wallets, changes in funding rates on ARB perpetual contracts and whether trading volume rises around the unlock. Movements from vesting addresses to exchanges would suggest an intention to sell, while transfers to staking or governance contracts would point the other way.

For ARB holders, the September 23 date is a supply event rather than a fundamental change to the network, so price action in the following days will show how much of the release the market can absorb.

Update:

Pay attention to ARB. Above, it mentions an unlock of ~139 million ARB on 23 September. Two trackers list a monthly unlock of ~92.65 million on 15–16 October. So that 23 September figure appears to be incorrect.
