XRP Ledger’s Batch V1.1 Upgrade Nears Activation After Validator Vote Passes 77%

The XRP Ledger is on the verge of activating its next major payments upgrade, Batch V1.1, which would let users bundle up to eight linked transactions into a single atomic operation that either succeeds or fails as a whole. As of this week, the amendment has secured support from 27 of the network’s 35 trusted validators, or 77%, just short of the 80% threshold required for activation.

The feature is designed to eliminate risk in multi-step transfers, with potential use cases including token swaps between two parties, combining customer payments with platform fees, and wallets bundling a payment with its associated transaction cost in one guaranteed operation. Once the threshold is reached, a mandatory two-week countdown begins before the change takes effect on the main network, during which validators can still revise their votes.

This version follows an earlier attempt that developers withdrew after discovering critical security vulnerabilities. The current iteration has undergone eleven bug fixes addressing signature issues, authorization checks, and server crash risks, followed by independent audits. If activated, Batch V1.1 would mark one of the more significant functional upgrades to the XRP Ledger’s payments infrastructure this year.
