更快的最终性对交易所、跨链桥以及所有跨链转移资金的人都很重要，因为资金被视为已结算之前等待的时间更短。在Bitcoin.com给出的例子中，每小时转移100万美元的服务可以释放约20万美元的营运资金。
目前仍处于早期阶段。委员会选择、奖励与惩罚、不活跃惩罚机制以及分叉过渡规则都标注为TBD。该文件还需要EIP编辑再次审核，这项改动将需要对共识层进行硬分叉，且尚无激活日期。
